Today (Local Church)

I decided to visit a nearby church today in Maryland with my family, and was very surprised. I never thought that my silent and reserved family would be attending this in depth multicultural evangelical church! I suppose these people find comfort in being surrounded by radicalist who may not obtain any of the manners of which they were raised with. Not saying this congregation didn’t have proper table manners, they were open and accepting of everyone, proclaiming it boldly in their testimonies. They are very different from my common folk family, who don’t express emotions often, and are very closed off from the different cultures hosting the metropolis area. This church unvailed their recently conducted servey and discovered that they have 65 different cultures attendingt he church regularly. For the sake of Immanuels church, I may be a christian believer, but I feel that some topics were a little too consentrated on conspiracy theories.

After Church I attended a Greek Buffet which was very pleasing. It is a little bungalo not far from the church called Greek Islands, of which serve a buffet and other authentic dishes. This is my third buffet attending on the East Coast, none on my suggestion, and have been impressed everytime.

The biggest difference I’ve come to realize between the East Coast and West Coast is you get a lot more for your buck here.

In the end, it’s not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away. Shing Xiong

Yesterday

Visited American University yeasterday and am very impressed with how kind the people are. While I was visiting the volleyball coach, Barry Goldberg, we had constant visitors who all seemed to be in a great mood and very welcoming to newcomers like me. We enjoyed little chitchat and continuous questions about where we were from  and what brought us to AU.

The Campus is beautiful with a combination of historic and modern buildings, making it appealing to all tastes in architechture. It is enriched with giant hybiscuss and other flowers that brighten up the campus; who ever is the grounds keeper is doing a great job!
